Allama Iqbal Struggle For Pakistan
Allama Iqbal was born on 9th November 1877 at Sialkot. He received his early education at his home town. Allama Iqbal passed his matriculation in 1893 and intermediate in 1895 from Mission School Sialkot.
He passed his graduation in 1897 from Government College Lahore and in the year 1899 he did his Master in Philosophy. After doing M.A. he started his career as a lecturer of philosophy and taught for some time at Oriental College and Government College Lahore.
In the year 1905 he went to England for higher education and he stayed there for three years. In the year 1907 he received his Ph.D. degree from Munich University Germany. In the year 1908, he passed barristery from England and in the same year he returned India. After his arrival in India he joined Government College and taught for three year. In the year 1911 he resigned from his Government service and started his career as a lawyer.
He started his political career in 1926 and elected in 9 member of Punjab Legislative Council. In the year 1927, he was elected as Secretary General of Muslim League Punjab. On 29th December 1930 Allama Iqbal addressed presidential meeting of All-India Muslim League at Allahabad. In his presidential address Allama Iqbal said, "I wanted to see Punjab, NWFP, Sindh and Balochistan amalgamated in a single state". This line contain the idea of Pakistan. It was his historical speech, which presented the Ideology of Pakistan.
In the year 1931-1932 he participated in second and third session of Round Table Conference held in London but this conference bore no fruit because Mr Gandhi did not acknowledge Muslim League as one and only political party of Indian Muslims.
After the failure of Round Table Conference Quaid-e-Azam was very much disappointed by the behaviour of Mr Gandhi and all his hopes came to an end, therefore Quaid-e-Azam decided to stay at London forever. He hired a house in London and started his legal practice.
But Allama Iqbal wrote him several letters and told him to come back to India and guide Indian Muslims. So due to efforts of Allama Iqbal, Quaid-e-Azam returned to India in 1934 and became permanent President of Muslim League.
In the same year Allama Iqbal also became the President of Muslim League Punjab and started his efforts to make Muslim League stronger. At that time unionist party was ruling in Punjab and Fazal Hussain was the head of Unionist party. Fazal Hussain did not co-operate with Muslim League. At that time Allama Iqbal informed Quaid-e-Azam about the critical situation of Punjab.
This situation was really troublesome for Quaid-e-Azam. So in the year 1937 Jinnah-Sikander pact was signed and Quaid-e-Azam took a sigh of relief. Allama Iqbal did not live longer and could not see the actual creation of Pakistan. He died on 21st April 1938 and buried in Lahore beside Badshahi Mosque.
Allama Iqbal was a great leader of Muslims. He was the founder of Two-nation theory. He gave the vision of Pakistan. So we can say that he was the real creator of Pakistan. His services in the creation of Pakistan is unforgettable.
